November News

As we count down the weeks until Christmas, we hope the children are enjoying their first term back with us. We welcome more new children and families into Preschool, and it’s lovely to see their happy faces arriving each morning.

Topics & Themes

The first topic the children concentrated on this half term was animal and creatures that live ‘Under the Sea & Amongst the Clouds.’ Children enjoyed lots of activities around this subject including, creating collages and constructing their own Octopus, counting and using numbers 1-8 for tentacles.

The second topic, ‘Dinosaurs & their Surroundings’ began last Monday and continues through to the end of this week. The children have found this topic particularly exciting and have relished in the activities around the theme. Some favourites have been; digging for dinosaur bones, dinosaur hand printing and creating dinosaur masks. Other activities around this subject include, dinosaur fossil making and x-ray pictures of dinosaur skeletons. The children, if not already, will be bringing everything home to share with you.

In the up and coming weeks before the Christmas break we will be concentrating on the meaning of Christmas and have many fun and exciting activities planned. Moulton Pre-School will open ‘Santa’s Workshop’ where Santa’s Elves can help to make and build toys. We have Gingerbread that we are going to decorate and the children will all take part in lots of Christmassy themed arts and crafts.

Christmas

A reminder our last day will be Friday 14th December. On this day we would like to invite all Pre-School children to join us for our annual Christmas Party! The party will run from 9am and will include, a children’s entertainer, party games, party food and a very special visitor. Parents are welcome to join us at 2.20pm for photographs and a slightly earlier finish.

If your child does not usually attend Pre-School on a Friday, please let a member of staff know who will be happy to make arrangements if you wish for your child to join us.

Our Christmas raffle will be drawn on this day so can we please remind parents to return any sold tickets to be in for a chance of winning some great prizes. Can we also ask for any unsold tickets to be returned to Pre-School so we can sell them on. Thank you.

Fundraising

Moulton Pre-School have received a cheque for £200 from Asda, thanks to Auntie Sam and everybody who shopped and put counters in for us at Asda Northwich. Another, big thank you to everybody that came to our ‘Extravaganza & Disco.’ We hope that you all had lots of fun and are we are happy to announce that Pre-School made a total of £99.05 due to your generosity.

Fundraising is essential for our local Pre-School. We rely on the voluntary work of the committee members, along with the generosity of supporters to help fund our existence. This helps to improve standards, equipment and the environment for your child. Every penny we raise goes back into the Pre-School to replace worn or broken books, toys and craft essentials as we are not a business and we are not about making a profit.

Easy Fundraising

Please remember whilst shopping online, simply log on to www.easyfundraising.org.uk and register Moulton Pre-School as your chosen charity. This website has links for hundreds of on-line stores including eBay, Amazon, John Lewis, and Argos. The online stores will indicate how much they will donate to us at no extra cost to you!

Bonus Ball

This is a very easy way for you to help our funds and possibly win something too. There are some numbers still available, Contact Auntie Sam for more information. Numbers cost £1.00 each. If you would like to set up a standing order please speak to Auntie Gill or Auntie Sam for further details.
